Lamb Burger with Feta Red Pepper Spread

BURGER INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb ground lamb

  • 1 clove garlic, minced or grated

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 1 Tbsp butter, room temperature or melted

SPREAD INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup feta

  • 1/2 cup roasted red peppers in the jar

  • 1 tsp red wine vinegar

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

INSTRUCTIONS

  1.  Preheat grill to 450 degrees

  2. In a bowl combine lamb, butter, oregano and garlic. Don’t over work the meat!

  3. Divide ground lamb in half and form 2 patties. Press 2 fingers into the center of the patty to make a small indentation. This keeps your burgers from puffing up and turning into balls.

  4. Grill patties for 4 minutes, flip, add your favorite cheese, and grill for another 4 minutes for medium burgers. Grill for another 2 minutes for well-done burgers.

  5. Let burgers rest uncovered for 5 minutes.

  6. While burgers rest, combine spread ingredients in a small food processor and blend until smooth. Spread on both sides of a toasted bun.

  7. Add your favorite toppings*

*The burger pictured includes melted havarti cheese, a toasted brioche bun, feta red pepper spread, tomato, red onion and chopped basil.
