Berry Crisp

Berry Crisp

CRUMBLE INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup of flour

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 3/4 cup rolled oats

  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup salted butter, melted

FILLING INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups of berries (I like a mix of raspberries and blackberries)

  • 1 Tbsp flour

  • 1 Tbsp granulated sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  2. In a bowl, sift granulated sugar and flour over washed berries. Stir to combine.

  3. Set berries aside.

  4. In a bowl, combine remaining flour, cinnamon, oats and salt.

  5. Pour in melted butter and stir until lumps form and the mixture darkens in color.

  6. Press half of crumble mixture into the bottom of a buttered 8 x 8 baking pan. I recommend using a heavy ceramic dish instead of a metal pan if possible.

  7. Using a slotted spoon, scoop berries out of bowl and spread over oatmeal mixture.

  8. Cover berries with the remaining crumble mixture.

  9. Bake for 60 minutes.
