Baked Rigatoni
INGREDIENTS
1 lb rigatoni pasta
1/2 lb ground Italian sausage (or sausage out of the casing)
1 - 24 oz jar of marinara sauce
1/2 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
INSTRUCTIONS
Bring heavily salted water to a boil in a large pot.
Meanwhile, in a skillet cook Italian sausage over medium-high heat until parts are brown and crispy.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Boil pasta according to instructions on the box (I usually do 1 minute less than recommended so the pasta soaks up more of the sauce in the oven).
Strain pasta and let cool for a few minutes.
Toss pasta in marinara. Stir in cooked sausage and Gorgonzola cheese.
Transfer pasta to a 9 X 13 baking dish or into individual serving baking dishes.
Cover pasta with Parmesan cheese.
Bake for 15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and crispy on the edges.
Let cook for 10 minutes before serving.
This was a staple meal in my house growing up! For maximum enjoyment, it must be eaten in front of the TV.
